Program Description:

Study Abroad in Barcelona

Hone your international business knowledge in the bustling city of Barcelona! This versatile program allows you to choose from a range of business electives at either Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) or Pompeu Fabra University (UPF). Complete your experience with CEA CAPA Barcelona Center electives that take full advantage of the Center's location in the heart of the city and allow you to delve into Spanish culture, history, and society. Classes are taught in English and Spanish for all levels of Spanish language ability.

Where You'll Study

Students take classes at the CEA CAPA Barcelona Center and one of CEA CAPA's partner institutions - Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona or Pompeu Fabra University. The CEA CAPA Barcelona Center, located on the Plaza Catalunya in the heart of the city, offers courses in a range of subjects, taught in English and Spanish. Learning takes place both in and out of the classroom, with instructors taking full advantage of Barcelona’s many notable sites and attractions. The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona hosts 50,000 students—3,000 of them international—across its multiple urban campuses. The university’s strong local connections allow students to gain practical experience as they explore Spanish culture. Pompeu Fabra University's six central Barcelona campuses offer a range of courses taught in English and Spanish as well as the opportunity to take courses with Spaniards for a truly integrated experience. Students receive a transcript from CEA CAPA’s School of Record, and either the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona or Pompeu Fabra University upon completion of their program.

Through SIUE's partnership with CEA, all SIUE students who participate in CEA programs receive:
  • A $1,000 travel grant toward any semester program
  • A $500 travel grant toward any summer program

This grant is applied to the student's account at CEA. Note that this grant cannot be combined with other CEA offers which may appear from time to time.
