SIUE Business Exchange Program at the Hochschule Hannover
With more than 7.000 students and about 700 staff members, the FHH ranks the second largest university in the capital of the federal state of Lower Saxony. Founded in 1971 after the merging of several educational institutions, the FHH covers an extraordinary range of disciplines in the five faculties at several locations in Hannover. In the Faculty of Business and Computer Sciences, about 54 professors and numerous part-time instructors provide a high-quality and application-oriented education. The Hochschule Hannover has been ranked one of the top business and CMIS programs in Germany.
Hannover lies on the border between the middle German mountains and hills and the northern German flatland. The city is more than 750 years old. It was designated in 1946 as the capital of Lower Saxony and has become the political, economic, and cultural center of the state.
In contrast to many other cities, the capital offers many parks, landscaped gardens, and recreational open spaces where one feels close to nature. The city's reputation as a center of culture and entertainment is fully justified. Hannover offers music, theater, museums, and art galleries and a wide range of cultural events to suit every taste. Whatever time of year one decides to visit, there is always something taking place to stimulate the imagination.
Students approved by SIUE's School of Business and Hochschole Hannover to participate in this exchange program will be charged SIUE tuition for the anticipated SIUE equivalent courses and credit hours. In addition to the SIUE tuition, students will be billed for the information technology fee. All other SIUE student fees are waived. Students will receive a tuition waiver at Hochschole Hannover and pay only administrative fees and housing costs to HH.
Additional Costs to Consider: Airline ticket to Germany, housing, student visa costs, insurance costs, residence permit, local and regional transportation, meals, spending money and incidentals.
The Studentenwerk Hannover (student services organization) offers good and reasonably priced accommodation in its student houses (dormitories/residences). Students looking for a single apartment or a room on the private market can inquire through the Studentenwerk Hannover website and refer to their online listing of available rooms and apartments (in German only).See Practical Information for more information on housing and student life in Hannover.
