University College Dublin Ireland (UCD) is one of Europes leading research-intensive universities. Here, undergraduate education, postgraduate masters, PhD training, research, innovation, and community engagement form a dynamic continuum of activity. The university was established in 1854 by John Henry Newman, whose written work on the value of higher education, titled The Idea of a University remains a long-respected text and an ongoing source of inspiration for UCDs educational philosophy.

Today, UCD is Irelands largest university with almost 25,000 students. Excitingly, UCD recently received a 50 million euro sports development investment. Located just on the outskirts of Dublin and a quick bus ride from the city center, it actively promotes university life as a journey of academic and personal discovery. UCD is home to almost 5,000 international students and, in addition, places great emphasis on the internationalization of the Irish student experience preparing all UCD students for future employment and life that crosses borders, boundaries, and cultures. A University College Dublin study abroad experience is one of a kind!

You'll take FIE's signature Irish Life and Cultures course as well as 4 UCD elective courses. You'll live in UCD's on-campus student residences and interact with other FIE students through study tours and extra-curricular activities!
