The SIUE's long standing relationship with ESSCA, selected graduate students in the School of Business may be selected to participate in 4 week summer program designed for graduate students at the ESSCA campus in Budapest, which opened in 1993. Hungary joined the European Union in 2004, the biggest enlargement ever of the Union since the creation of the European Economic Community in 1957.  The ESSCA Summer Programme in Budapest allows participants to come and discover the changes happening in one of Europe’s most beautiful capitals.

There are two Course Options through which nominated SIUE graduate students may earn SIUE credit. The program is suitable for graduate students in the following programs: MBA, MMR, MSA, MS CMIS, and MS Econ/Finance.

COSTS
Students approved by both SIUE's School of Business and ESSCA to participate in this exchange program will be charged SIUE tuition for the anticipated SIUE equivalent courses and credit hours on the SIUE summer bursar bill. In addition to SIUE tuition, students will be billed for the SIUE Information Technology Fee. All other SIUE student fees are waived for the exchange semester abroad. Students will also receive a tuition waiver at ESSCA which covers the courses in Budapest, company visits, course materials and a farewell dinner.

ADDITIONAL COSTS: Airline ticket to Budapest, housing costs, meals, spending money and incidental expenses. The Practical Guide offers some insight into accommodation and meal costs for Budapest. See ESSCA Fees for more information on costs.

HOUSING
ESSCA Hungary does not run a students’ residence in Hungary. ESSCA can refer students to real estate agencies in Budapest, which offer all sorts of rental accommodations in the neighborhood of ESSCA.
